Walks on the Wildside

This month's walk for Saturday, 23rd July, we are climbing Mt Ngungun in the Glasshouse Mts group. It is the easiest and safest mountain with amazing 360 degree views from the top. It involves about 45 minutes of uphill climbing. The path is uneven and has many stone steps. The return trip is 2.8 km with the biggest danger being from falling rocks so we all need to be careful not to dislodge any. The top of the mountain is a ridge of rocks with quite severe drops but quite safe if care is taken. When I climbed it last week it was very crowded with school children so it is quite suitable for any adventurous child. I even met a three year old who had walked all the way!!

The address is 269 Fullerton Road, Glasshouse Mountains which is well signposted from the town of Glasshouse off the Steve Irwin Way.
We will meet at 8.45 at the bottom where you can park your car on the side of the road as there is no dedicated carpark.
Pop a snack and a drink in your backpack to eat at the top but there are no picnic tables up there!!

If you have the Family Bushwalks book it is on page 59. I'll have some with me if anyone wants to get a copy.

Please call me on 0412031880 if you have any questions and hope for good weather. I will cancel if it is wet as it could be slippery! In that case I would reschedule for August.
