Prepare Act Survive

The hot, dry conditions in southern qld have contributed to our current fire season being around 80% worse than last year so far, according to a recent ABC News report.  Queensland Fire & Emergency Services (QFES) have responded to 1800 grass fires this year since the official bushfire season began on the 1st of August.

To help raise awareness of current conditions and their contribution to increased bushfire risk, we are hosting an information session with local QFES Fire Communications Officer and member of Maleny Rural Fire Service, Daniel Sandeman.   Come along and find out how to begin to prepare your property and yourself, enabling you to act appropriately in the event of a bushfire thus enhancing your ability to survive the experience.   If you live on a rural block you need to develop a practical Bushfire Survival Plan, come along and find out how to begin that process.

When:  Wednesday 11th October

Time:  6 for 6.30 - 7.30  (Tea & coffee available prior to start)

Venue: TBC

Donations to the Maleny Rural Fire Service will be accepted on the night.

Registration is required prior to the event
