The final Ramble has been arranged for Saturday, 24th November at the property of Mary and John King at Conondale. Mary and John have a Bush Food business on their 92 acre property. They have a licenced commercial kitchen where they make many interesting bush food recipes including their famous Rainforest Liqueurs (tamarind liqueur is Jill and my favourite!)
The visit will begin at 8am (it's getter warmer!) with a ramble along the upper reaches of the Mary River led by John who will point out and talk about the various bush food plantings and how each one is used. After the walk which will take about an hour, we have been invited back to the verandah of the house where we will taste the recipes and the liqueurs made by John and Mary. You will be able to purchase some of the produce but will need to bring cash. Small bottles of the liqueurs sell for about $15. There are about half a dozen choices including the tamarind and wattle. Great xmas ideas!
The Barung bus will be available for the first 12 people who want a lift out. Please let me know if you are needing a lift as the first 12 who do will get a seat. We will gather at Barung at 7am for a 7.15 departure.
For those who want to meet us there, the address is 272 Aherns Road Conondale (Aherns Road is where you turn left to Crystal Waters). John will put a sign out. Alternatively, you could follow the bus.
Although numbers are not restricted John and Mary would like numbers so please register here or email firstname.lastname@example.org or text me if you are coming.
