skilling queenslanders for work
The Skilling Queenslanders for Work program focuses on supporting young people (including those in and transitioned from out-of-home care), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, mature-age job seekers, women re-entering the workforce, veterans and ex-service personnel and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
As part of this state government initiative, Barung Landcare delivers ‘Workskills Traineeships’ which give long-term unemployed and disadvantaged job seekers access to tailored employment assistance and employment on community, public works and environmental projects.
Through Work Skills Traineeships, participants are employed full-time as entry-level trainees on work placement projects.
Barung Landcare Skilling Queenslander trainees have assisted with a range of important conservation and land management projects and have gained valuable practical and life skills along the way.
If you are interested in this traineeship program, positions are advertised periodically on Seek.com so please follow this platform for announcements.
